CHAPTER 4: THE PROPOSAL
Arriving back in the city after their 'interesting' weekend getaway, Randy dropped off Cassie at her place, exchanging a kiss, and heading to his studio apartment. Walking in, he checks his phone, and see that his tailor friend has left him a message.
'Randy my friend, the package is ready. Come over in the morning to check it out for approval. See you tomorrow.'
Smiling, he gazed at the calendar, and smiled even more. "Two more weeks, my sweet," as he placed his dirty clothes in his hamper, and performed his evening stretches. Things were shaping up nicely for his plan.
Cassie stared at herself in the mirror, amazing that it showed her full 6'4" muscular frame in all its bulging glory. Flexing and pampering her tight, ripped curves, her thoughts strayed to her man Randy. Thinking of how he helped her manifest her hidden power slightly, then took the brutal surge of it, made her proud of him, and just as proud to be his woman. She loved him with all her heart, soul, mind and strength, willing to go to the limit to protect him and make him happy. Turning her head to her nightstand, she walks over, and pulls out the drawer, revealing the black velvet box. Picking it up, she dared not open it, but the thought of what will happen played across her face in the form of a smile.
"In two weeks, Randy love, I will show you how I really feel."
Right then, a lone tear ran down her mocha-colored cheek as she closed her eyes.
"I love you so much, Randy," she said silently as she placed the box back in its spot, and went to the bathroom to take a shower, to wash the day's battle from her body. Thinking about what happened earlier that day, made her wonder: what did her father have to do with the Moriarti brothers, and why? She pushed it to the back of her head, as she had small preparations for school tomorrow.
Resting on his bed, Benjamin thought about that sudden burst of power from Stalliona. Apparently, she was getting stronger, much stronger, than him, and he despised it with a passion. There had to be some way of taking her down, but what? Pondering those thoughts, there came a knock at the door.
"Who is it?" he said in his baritone British tone.
"Just me, brother," said the voice.
"Come in," as James opened the door and walked in. It was obvious that the younger was the brains, while the elder was the brawn, though either never quite admitted to the other about this switch of positions. James sat down on the foot of the bed.
"Well brother, she did it again?"
Benjamin sighed. "She's getting stronger. It has to be that Morris laddie, he has something to do with it!" replying in anger, smashing the nightstand with his left fist. All that was left was splintered wood as he slightly calmed down. "Those two are standing in the way of our master plan. What can we do?"
James smiled. "You failed to realize, brother," saying matter-of-factly, "you just mentioned our trump card. The boy."
Benjamin, through his frustration, saw through what his younger sibling said, and a smiled played across his face. "I forgot, but, how do we-"
"Seperating the two. It's known that those two are deeply in love with each other. And seperating them is the best way to get to her, weaken her resolve, and deal the final blow to the defender."
"Tell me more," as they talked, formulating a plan that will change the course of history for two unsuspecting people, and reveal things one hundred seventy-five years in the making.
For the next few days, things went as usual, surprisingly with no disturbances from the one man who is becoming a nuisence to the defender of the city. Cassie felt relieved that she didn't have this to deal with, yet she maintained her evening patrols in the districts that were severely damaged by her recently arrived arch-nemesis from Britian, Benjamin Moriarti. As Stalliona flew through the spring evening sky, in her mind she was counting down the hours to seeing her beloved Randy again, being in his small (and as she found out, pretty strong), loving arms, relishing his tender caresses and kisses, and just enjoying his overall presence. Standing on the tallest building overlooking the city in all directions, her patrol continued without incident, flying by her boyfriend's aparment, checking in on him. Randy was asleep at his desk yet again, head laying on his pile of papers he used for designing. She smiled at the sight, knowing he can rest easier since her exorcisement of his mental demons nearly a year ago. After that, they've been nearly inseperable. Since that day, her love has only grew for the 'little' man she knows as the apple of her eye, and she wishes to make him hers officially, in her own way. and it will come three days from now.
Tuesday and Wednesday went by slowly. Thursday arrived slowly as well. Randy got up and took a shower, ate a quick breakfast, and headed to school. Seeing Cassie, they greeted each other with a peck on the cheek. Everybody on campus knew those two were an item, and some of the females became jealous, thinking regretfully on what they missed out on not petitioning Randy for a date. He was a casual pro, ready to focus on his studies, and help others with theirs. Walking down the hall, he had something on his mind.
"Hey Cass," he started, "you have anything planned tonight?"
"Uh, no," she stuttered, "why?"
"Well, do you mind if I came over? I have something to give you."
Cassie didn't know where this was going. "Okay, if you insist."
He smiled. "Okay, see you around seven." He then walked off. His plan was going good so far. The real test will be this evening.
Randy drove down the street in his Charger, thinking of how he'll do this. Finally, he thought simplicity is the best way to go. Pulling up in her driveway and getting out of the car, he also pulled out a long package from the back seat. He walked up to the door, and rang the bell. The door opened, to reveal his beloved ebony British amazon, in a shirt and jeans, with no shoes.
Her look turned to shock, as she saw Randy in a two piece black suit, dress shoes and white shirt, complete with tie.
"W-what are you dressed up for, love?" asking in amazement.
"I can't believe you'd forget your own birthday!" he said smiling.
Cassie smacked her hand against her forehead. "Oh my goodness, I did forget!" She smiled and moved to the side to let him in. "There's been so many things going on lately, it slipped my mind. I'm so sorry, love-"
He placed his finger on her lips. "Shhh, my sweet," he whispered, "no need for apologies. I know your situation, and my duty is to take you away from that." He then presented the package. "Happy 23rd birthday, my love."
Cassie gratefully accepted it, and took the top off the box, only to go into shock once again.
"Oh my God," as she pulled the item out, which was a silk white singel-strap dress with a thin lining on the inside. Holding it full length, her brown eyes shown like diamonds, as tears filled the wells. "T-this is...the dress you were working on a few weeks ago. B-but I-"
"Uh huh..." he grinned.
"So, it was-"
"For you, Cass. To show my appreciation for helping me."
She put the dress down, and embraced him in a bear hug that nearly knocked the wind out of him.
"Uh," his voice slightly muffled, "you're welcome?"
Cassie sat him down on his two feet as she kissed his face all over. "Oh thank you, Randy thank you!"
Randy put his hand up. "No, it's not over."
"Go ahead and put it on. We're going out tonight."
Cassie's smile mixed with her rosy red blush drove him crazy as she took the dress and went to the bedroom to change. Fifteen minutes later, Randy's eyes beheld a beautiful sight, to see his beloved Cassie strut out in front of him in the finished product, that accentuated her muscular curves so well. This was the after effect he was hoping for with this design. With the hem stopping just above her knees, showing off her heart-shaped calves, it sent his heart beating fast. He knew she had white high heels somewhere, and there they were, matching the dress, and topping off an untoppable package that defied words. Doing a full 360 in front of her man, her face met his with a big smile, as well as a noticable blush. Randy just shook his head.
"You ready, my love?" holding out his arm. She gladly wrapped her huge arm around his.
"Let's," smiling as he escorted her out the door, to his car, and opening the passenger door to let her in, being the gentleman he is. Taking his seat at the wheel, they proceeded downtown, to a great restaurant in the business district.
Cassie had no idea of the connections he had in certain circles, due to his notoriety as a designer. Since he first submitted a design for a sport shoe to a manufacturer at 17, his material has become much sought after, and when the writing came in, it only grew in garnerment. Firms around the world clamored for his designs, and he was well compensated for his efforts. Freelance by trade, he work was his own reward, and set him for life financially. Keeping a low profile was hard, and was harder when demons haunted his psyche. And when he met Cassie, everything turned around for him. Heads turned as men and women alike watched this average young man walk in with this tall, mocha-skinned muscle woman around his arm. Many knew who he was, and how much he was loved. As the waiter sat them down at his reserved table, some stole glances of this magnificent amazon of a woman, as well as the man she was with. Ordering dinner and talking at the same time was not unusual for these two, as they celebrated her birthday together. What really got Cassie is when they rolled out a three-layer birthday cake for her. She blushed like crazy as the first slice was given to her, and others given to the restaurant patrons. This is a night she won't soon forget.
As they pulled in her driveway later that evening, he again performed his gentleman duties flawlessly, and escorted her to her door.
"Would you like to stay for a while?" she offered.
"Sure, I don't mind," as he followed her inside.
"Have a seat, I need to go get something," as she disappeared into the bedroom, to appear a moment later. She then sat beside Randy, and took his hands in hers.
"Thank you Randy, for this marvelous night," she said with a smile. "Nobody's ever treated me like this. I-I'm flattered, and surprised that you remembered my birthday when I didn't."
"It's okay, Cass," answering honestly, "I'd been planning this for weeks, and knew it was coming up. I had to make it up to you for all you've done."
Her plan came to mind, and she grinned. "Well, I want to do something for you in return. Have you ever flew?"
Randy looked confused. "Uh, yeah, in a plane. Why?"
"Follow me," as she stood up, with her dress still on, and went out the back door, with Randy following behind.
"What do you have planned?" he asked.
"This," as she put her hands together, then spread them out, going through her transformation into the superheroine Stalliona. "Turn around please."
Randy turned around with his back facing her, as she gently wrapped her muscular arms around his torso, taking him into her embrace.
"Hold on tight, and enjoy the ride," as she slowly left the ground, and taking off flying above the city.
Randy has never seen his hometown from this angle before, as they flew over houses, schools, buildings and fields. Climbing higher, they flew through the clouds, feeling their softness, which amazed him. Since he was a kid, he always wondered how it would be to fly; now he was, and it never felt so good! Stalliona glanced down at her passenger as he was as a child again, with the amazement in his eyes. Oh how happy she was, but this was the silver lining before the rainbow.
Heading to the countryside and the rolling hills, this is where they will land. She descended on top of a flat top hill lush with grass, overlooking a vast field of trees. She sat her man down on his feet, as he marveled at the scenery. Remaining in her hero attire, she smiled down at him.
"Cass," he said in a low tone, "this is beautiful! How'd you manage to find this?"
"Google Maps," she said matter-of-factly, "but I brought you out here for a reason."
Randy slightly looked up at her, as her look turned kind of serious.
"Randy, I have a confession," she started. "From the first time I saw you, it was love at first sight. You've been through so much in your life, and nearly went insane."
"That was before, until I met you," he answered.
"Yes. And during our time together, you've never ceased to amaze me. And it makes me love you more each day. I would give my very life to protect yours, and I knew you would do the same."
He nodded in agreement. "Now," as she hesitated, "I know what I'm about to do will surprise you, but I know what I want, and I can't hold back my true feelings any longer."
She reached into the side of her battle skirt, and pulled out something. And what she did definitely surprised Randy, as she went to one knee, took his left hand, and placed a 14 karat gold ring on his left finger next to his pinky. Looking up to him, a tear streamed down her cheek, then down the other.
"Randy," she asked, "will you marry me?"
Randy closed his eyes, as a couple of tears streamed down his cheeks as well. He then opened them, and smiled.
Still on her one knee, she embraced him in a hug that became a example of the love that they shared. How long they were in that position, who knows. Cassie felt her heart was now complete, as she now has the man of her dreams, soon to be the man of her life. Randy never seen it coming, yet he's never been happier than this exact moment he was experiencing. She then showed her face, stained with tears.
"Thank you, Randy, I-I love you so much," sobbing slightly as he looked down at her.
"You don't realize how happy I am," smiling, "I have the woman of my dreams, and I wasn't looking! Going through what I was, I never gave it any thought. Love makes things happen, don't it?"
She nodded, as she then embraced him in a passionate kiss that stood as a testament of their love. She then stood to her full 6' 7" height.
"Let's enjoy the rest of this evening, shall we?" he said as he tood a seat on the grass, staring off to the sight of the mountains and valleys surrounding the area, as she sat down beside him. They leaned against each other, as she wrapped her arm around him in a warm embrace. This memory will live with these two for a very long time.
Sleeping in his bed, Randy's mind reeled at what happened that evening; his girlfriend Cassie just proposed marriage to him, and he accepted. It was a heartfelt response, as he knew his life is now complete with her. Dreaming about the details and date of their wedding, it'll be a while before anything manifests, but knowing Cassie, it's already going on in her head.
Suddenly, his dream shifted from his now fiancé to something completely different. In his mind, the scenery became as the inside of a kaliedascope, twisting in different directions, making him dizzy. His carnal body tossed and turned, uncontrollably, as his mind took more control of his motor actions. After a few minutes, he laid straight in his bed, clenching his teeth, unable to move. Just then, the door of his studio apartment opened, to reveal a large, tall man walking in. He headed to the bedroom, to find the young man paralyzed with his eyes closed. The man spoke in a hushed tone, in a thick low British accent.
"Randy Morris, I presume," he grinned, "you are about to take a little trip. You can not resist me. I have control of your mind and body."
He walked closer. "Any resistance will result in your termination." He picked him up, and threw him over his shoulder, walking out of the apartment, closing the door.
Daylight came, and shone through the venetian blinds in Cassie's bedroom. She was reeling off the euphoria of proposing to a man she'd only knew a year, felt and saw the connection, and grew closer to him, mentally, physically and emotionally. Stretching her muscular body, she glanced over at the dress she just wore the night before, a present from her now fiancé. He might have to design her wedding dress, or maybe not, forgetting wedding traditions. Taking a shower and heading out the door to school, her day couldn't get any better. It's about to get bad, very bad.
