The captain gazed with an evil grin at the sight above him. Through his binoculars, he witnessed the mortal human and the magical muscle girl being captured by his crewmen, daring not to let them get away. As the men forcefully reeled them into their grasps, his grin got wider. "This is sweet," he said to himself, as the two struggled to get free.

"What-" Belle huffed, looking back, seeing the pirates reeling them in. Gazing over to where they floated, she realized how they did it.

"Pixie dust?!" she quickly said, "but how-" as she fluttered her wings as hard as possible, not having any luck at all. Mike was just as vulnerable, with carrying Periwinkle in his hands, her still unconscious. He dare not harm her. For her protection, it'd be best for this to happen.

"I don't think we can put up a good fight, especially with Peri," he relented, as both were pulled to each of the floating boats. The men grinned with greed.

"We remember you," one of the guys said, eyeing Belle, "you sent us overboard that one time!"

"Yeah," she said seething, "you and your friends, and I wouldn't mind doing it again." She was tied up with the rope, tossed to the back of the boat, as the other took hold of the oars, and stroked the air, moving the vessel downward to the water, near the ship. The pixie dust glowed in the midday light, as the boats made the descent to the pirate ship, with lines being cast to anchor them and tow them in. And, as strong as Belle was with her now muscular physique, her strength failed her this one time, as her struggles became futile. Sighing, she gave in to who were now she and Mike's captors.

At the fairy camp, the two fairies tended to various duties, pertaining to the onset of winter on the mainland. It was getting pretty cold, as both Vidia and Zarina had on their winter coats, designed by the magical human formerly known as TinkerBell. With the various types of materials used, the coats were very warm. After all, TinkerBell modeled them after what the mortal humans used to keep warm, and they were plenty warm, even for their wings.

"Man," said Zarina, as they stood outside in the cold, "these coats are really toasty!"

"Yeah," mused Vidia, "Tink did a job on this, though I wonder where they are, they should've been back by now."

Zarina gazed up to the winter midday sky. "Yeah, they should have been back, the wind's getting chillier, we can't fly though." The wind whipped their long hair around. "I think we better get back inside, feels like an arctic blast is coming."

"You might be right," added the fast flying fairy, "but if they're not back before sunset, we need to get word back to the queen," as the two headed back inside to keep warm from the cold of winter. Yet, their fears and concerns are fully warranted.

In Detroit, Christmas was just a couple of days away, and the Philips house was full of guests. Many of the family's relatives came from around the country to visit them, some staying at the house, others at hotels. As the severity of the weather picked up, it nerved one certain person.

"Is anything wrong, dear?" asked Sara to her husband, as Peter gazed out the back window.

"Oh," he said startled, "Sara, I- I didn't mean to-" Sara put a finger to his lips.

"It's okay," she said, "you're concerned about Michael, I know."

"It's just that," he sighed, "he's been through so much since what happened a decade ago, and he has a long way to go before he can truly be himself again."

"You're right about that," his wife said in agreement, "but with TinkerBell's arrival and transformation, he has turned around dramatically. And the loss of his left eye has opened him up more."

"The Indian chief once told me," Peter remembered, "that in order for one to move forward and gain, a step back must be made, as well as a loss."

"Do you think he will lose something else?"

"Maybe, yet it will be beneficial to him in the long run. After all he's been through, his reward is past due. In what way it will come, no one knows."

In Belle's mind, the worst case scenario just came to pass. She and her mortal boyfriend have just been captured by her sworn nemeses, the pirates. Long ago, during the time that Zarina was gone from Pixie Hollow, and suddenly reappeared, she and  her fairy friends had the uncanny opportunity to meet the pirates, when they tricked Zarina into thinking that their ship needed a captain, and made her the captain of the Jolly Roger. The result was her being held captive by them, and the use of the pixie dust tree she grew, to cover the large ship, and fly the crew to the mainland, to plunder to their hearts' content. The mortal world was not used to pirates, or anything magical in that manner, as their version of pirates died off a century before. To see a flying pirate ship over London, would cause quite a shock to the populous.

On opposite sides of the deck, tied up and placed in corners, the two couldn't help but wonder, how they'd didn't notice them hiding. How could they have been so dense? And worst of all, the captain has her sick and dying frost fairy of a sister locked up in his quarters. Both knew that she couldn't survive much longer, especially with it being so warm, and in her condition, it could end up disastrous.

Belle couldn't help but notice, that a pirate was keeping watch over her and Mike, though they were separated by distance. As she gazed over at him, he had a scowl on his face, knowing that he was kind of ticked off, at the current situation. But looking down at the rope that bound her, she saw the reason why it was hard for her to escape.

"Blue pixie dust," she muttered, "but, how did they get a hold of it?"

Her sight was suddenly shadowed by a tall figure, in a coat she recognized all too well.

"We figured out how to get to it," said the figure, as Belle craned her head up to see his face. He was indeed young, nearly the same age as the young version of Hook she and the girls encountered long ago. "Bring the boy over here," he commanded, his voice filled with youth. The other crewman dragged Mike over to where he stood and where Belle sat, putting him beside her, yet a considerable distance away. He bent down to take a look at the magical girl.

"You're just as my father described you, as well as the crew," he said, "beautiful, and mischeivous. Quite a sight." He then went over to the teen male. "And you must be the son of the famous Peter Pan."

"What's it to you?" Mike muttered.

"My father described you as obedient, and willing to do anything," he said matter-of-factly, "I wonder what happened," switching to an evil tone.

"Do you really know how your father was?" the teen asked. The male placed his hand over Mike's black eye patch.

"I see that you suffered the same fate that took his right hand," he grinned, "but it's not the right kind of revenge I'm looking for."

"By the way," Belle said, in a seething tone, "who are you?"

"Oops, pardon my manners, I didn't formally introduce myself," he said, taking his hat off and bowing, "I am Ronalde, captain of the Jolly Roger, first born son of the infamous Captain Hook."

Now it was made real: Hook did have a son, but what is he after them for?

************

Dusk was setting in, and no sign of Belle or Mike. The wind has been blowing cold air for the last couple of hours, making conditions very bad for flying. Fortunately, for the two fairies stuck at the camp not too far from the cottage, things were about to look up.

"It's getting dark," mused Vidia, as she paced the floor. Zarina, on the other hand, was currently entrenched in something.

"I think it's about time to go see the queen," said the pixie dust alchemist, "and tell her. It has to be the pirates."

"But how are we gonna get there?" asked the fast flying fairy, "it's getting cold, and you know what it does to a warm fairy's wings-"

"Fret no more," Zarina said, "I have a solution," as she held up her hands, with violet pixie dust on them. "With this covering us, we should be immune to the cold wind, and no broken wings."

She tossed the dust in the air, covering herself with it. And taking a chance, she stepped outside into the blowing cold wind, showing no immunity to it. The wind just blew around her whole being, as well as the cold, not infecting her in the least. Vidia was surprised to say the least.

"You have enough for me?" she asked. Zarina smirked.

"Of course," as she tossed some over her friend, making her immune to the weather as well.

"Let's get going," said Vidia, "time's a wasting," as both fairies took off in the chilling winter sky.

Flying over London, and past the second star, which has become a familiar route, the slightly chilly sea breeze felt good for some reason. Maybe it was because of the special pixie dust that Zarina made, that made them immune to the cold during their flight. It made their trip nearly seamless.

Passing over part of the Never Land sea, the two spotted the pirate ship.

"Hey Zarina," Vidia called out to her counterpart, "I have an idea."

"What is it?" she asked.

"You go back and tell Queen Clarion, I'll head down to the ship and see what's happening. If they've already captured Belle and Mike, I can see what needs to be done."

"Sounds good to me," said the pixie dust alchemist, "I'll be back soon," as they separated.

Remembering the last time they were in this predicament, the fast flying fairy swiftly flew down on the starboard side, hiding in the lifeboat. Peeping through the porthole, Vidia saw nothing in particular at first.

They must be still up on deck, she thought, as she carefully flew up near the top of the deck, to get a peek. But due to the number of pirates there, she thought better to stay hidden for the time being, until Zarina returned with help.

*************

The pixie dust tree, and all the surrounding areas of Pixie Hollow, were all abuzz as Christmas Eve approached. Surprisingly, the only person that was on edge, though it didn't appear that way, is the queen of fairies herself. As much as she tried to keep herself calm, nothing but worry permeated her otherwise collected being. The ministers of the seasons were present, as they observed their ruler.

"Is anything the matter?" asked the Minister of Fall.

"Yes," said the Minister of Spring, "we've never seen you like this before."

"Please, you can tell us," added the Minister of Summer. Queen Clarion gazed at them with a wary smile, trying to hide her worry, but doing a poor job of it.

"I might as well," she said, "it's about-" as she abruptly interrupted by the voice of another fairy.

"Queen Clarion!" called Zarina, as she flew into the upper chamber, "we believe that Mike and Belle have been captured by the pirates!"

All gave a shocked sound at the news. "Where's Vidia?" asked the queen.

"She went down to the ship to keep an eye on what's happening," she said, "we just spotted the ship near Pirate's Cove."

"If they've found a way to bypass the magical defense," she said, "they might have gotten access to the secondary pixie dust tree."

"But how?"

"Remember, a fairy's wings do not work in water, so they must have a diving suit and waterproof bags to get some of the dust, and somehow used it to capture them," she added, then, in a sudden move, she removed her crown, and in a brief magical burst, changed her appearance. A few seconds later, everyone is amazed at what has happened.

The queen, forsaking her regalness, took on more of a fairy form, full with long legs and a gold outfit becoming of her status. Her wings were now that of a butterfly, yet still retained its sheer beauty. This is a complete world away from what everyone knew about their ruler.

"Your majesty," said the Minister of Fall in shock, "what...happened to you?"

Queen Clarion gave an unphased gaze. "It is my fault that Mike and Belle have been captured. I knew this would happen, but not like this. Therefore, it is my responsibility to assist all I can to free them." She gazed towards Zarina. "Let's go," as the two fairies took off from the pixie dust tree. Upon their exit, they were noticed by the four nature fairies, as they too  gathered around.

"What's going on?" asked Silvermist, her voice filled with worry.

"Mike and Belle were captured by the pirates," Zarina said in a hurry.

"Is there any way we can help?" asked Fawn.

"No," said the queen, "you all need to stay here, the less people, the better chance we have of freeing them." Clarion gave an angry gaze. "Mike will need our help more than anyone, and if Periwinkle dies," she shook her head to clear the thought, as she surged ahead of Zarina.

"Wish us luck," she called as she followed the queen.

"Please come back soon," muttered Rosetta, as the two fairies disappeared into the cloud covered sky.

************

At the ship, things were pretty calm, considering who was tied up, and who was moving around. In her usual stealthy way, Vidia moved around from one side of the ship to the other, watching and waiting for help to arrive. When one of the pirates went down below deck, she made her move to the captain's quarters, and peeped through the porthole. And the sight from her vantage point, was saddening to say the least.

In the little cage, surrounded by glass, Periwinkle laid unconscious, and fading away slowly. It was similar to the one Zarina was held in during her captivity long ago. Her head turned to the side, though she looked as if she was sleeping, she was literally helpless. Being taken away by a magical disease that affected her twin sister a few months ago. The sight had Vidia, for the first time, on the verge of tears. For some reason, she's softening up, in a major way. This was a first.

Suddenly, she heard footsteps coming; quickly, Vidia flew unseen, over the bow of the ship, out of sight. One of the crewmen walked past, heading for the prisoners, to check on them. Peeking over the bow, she saw Mike, tied up to one of the masts, and Belle, on the floor, tied up as well. The deck had too many people, so she couldn't do anything at the moment, so she waited.

"This is a worst case scenario," she mumbled, "I know Tink used to get herself into trouble, but this time trouble came to her, and him," as she shook her head, "what am I thinking?! they're innocent! This has happened before," she continued to talk to herself, as she suddenly felt a tap on her shoulder.

"Uh, what are you talking about, Vidia?" asked the voice. Vidia quickly turned around, to see Zarina, and surprisingly, Queen Clarion hovering there.

"Queen Clarion!" she said shocked, "w-w-what are you doing here?!"

"I came to help," she said, resolve present in her voice, "I'm responsible for getting them into this, I need to help rescue them."

The fast flying fairy smiled and nodded. "Well," she started, "they have Michael tied to the mast, and Belle on the deck." They peeked over the deck, looking in the vicinity of the captain's quarters. "Periwinkle's in there, her condition is worsening. She doesn't have much longer."

The queen closed her eyes and thought about it. "Any suggestions?" she asked.

"They're constantly on deck," said Vidia, "maybe they're expecting some big rescue, and have something planned. We have to be careful."

As the three fairies planned, movement was heard on deck. Peeping below the ballast, something was happening.
